Welcome homeowners, customers, builders, and others curious or interested in building a deck. While this guide is not meant to be a detailed guide of pricing, as some of that will need to be done on site this guide is meant to assist in answering questions to those that believe in doing their research.
Quality
Ogden Deck's builds using Pro-Wood Pressure Treated Lumber, Helical Pylon's (When allowed by jurisdiction), Simpson Engineered Hardware, Code Compliant Railing, Nationally Recognized decking that exceeds all standards. Hiring a contractor that skirts the law, utilizes non-code compliant material, unlicensed | uninsured can at times offer cheaper prices. Unfortunately, recently we've noticed a disturbing trend where those skirting the law raised their prices which has caused some customers to believe they are buying quality simply because the price is high... a high price doesn't mean quality products are being used. When in doubt, ensure your contractor pulled a permit and plans on getting it inspected.

Demolition | Hauling | Disposing of a traditional deck:
On Average, and I say average because many things come into play but for example: A traditional 12X12 Deck would cost $864 A traditional 16X16 Deck would cost $1,536 A traditional 20X20 Deck would cost $2,400 Often, customers may decide to do the demo themselves and if you choose to do that its great! If you want us to do it no problem, it's what we do. When considering price, don't forget the price includes us removing the deck and hauling it to the dump. At the dump we need to pay the fees to dump the old deck. If you already knew this, great! If you didn't that's why we wanted to explain the facts. |

Deck Building Price
We do not want to mislead people, each and every situation and backyard that we build a deck is custom and built from scratch. We will conduct a site visit of your property, but this estimate are typically minimum's to build our basic decks. If you are looking for a custom or high end deck, frankly these prices will increase. We are simply trying to explain the minimum's to give people a better understanding of what they are getting into.
To build a 15 by 15 deck utilizing an entry level decking board (Call to find out which is our entry level of the time) w/composite railing would run you approximately $14,625
Step's typically run $300 per step, we will run a step every 8'' down for a natural code compliant step.
Platform's for stair cases typically run approximately $2,500-$5,000 depending on the platform design.
4X4 Concrete pours for the end of stair cases usually run approximately $950
Stair Fascia & Toe Kicks are too customized to determine ahead of time.
Railing upgrades typically run $10-45 additional per LN FT, we have steel railing, aluminum railing, cable railing, and more.
Deck Board Upgrades typically run $3 extra a SQ FT all the way up to $18 extra per SQ FT depending on the board selected. We feature Trex, Deckorator's, TimberTech, Fiberon, and others.
We've customized some of the most complicated deck designs on the Wasatch Front, this is just a base line to give those not familiar with the industry an idea on some of the pricing for deck building. A site visit is used to give a better idea of cost and any information given here, online, or over the phone is an estimate until a site visit is done.
